The Project includes the following Work: Erosion control, tree clearing and removal, installation of a sand blanket and seepage collection drains, additional fill placement to reduce slope on downstream side of dam, additional riprap stabilization along existing emergency spillway. It is anticipated that the lake will need to be lowered at least 5 feet while the embankment repairs are performed. The existing siphon drain for the dam consists of an approximate 12" diameter pipe system located in the middle portion of the dam embankment. The siphon drain does not need repairs and is available for use in the Contractor's control of water plan for this repair project. The Contractor must take extreme caution while performing the proposed project repairs to not damage the existing siphon drain system. It is appropriate to note that the functionality of the siphon drain has not been tested lately but is assumed to be operational. The Contractor shall assume all responsibility for the control of water, including storm and seepage flows, throughout the entire construction project.
