Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Marquette, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The fire flows and the piping servicing the properties along this section of Blemhuber Avenue are dependent on a 6- inch 1895 and 1902 sand cast iron pipe. This project will upsize the existing pipe to 8-inch D.I. piping to improve fire flows, increase residential flows, and replace aged undersized pipe. The existing sanitary sewer is an 8 inch and 8-inch 1903 clay pipe and will be replaced with 8-inch PVC piping. The sanitary sewer manholes and laterals will be replaced. Currently no storm sewer exists on this street. This project will extend the storm sewer from the nearest intersections for storm water control. The street is currently rated a 5 under our Paser rating system. The curbing is in poor condition and will be replaced. Sidewalks will be replaced when required. The street cross section will be constructed to meet current design standards and guidelines As of July 17,2025 ,This project is included in the city's 2026- Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
