Pursuant to California Public Contract Code section 20111.6, all prime contractors and all electrical, mechanical or plumbing contractors holding C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, and/or C-46 licenses submitting bids on projects using funds received pursuant to the Leroy F. Greene School Facilities Act of 1998 or any funds received, including funds reimbursed, from any future state school bond for a public project that involves a projected expenditure of one million dollars ($1,000,000) or more must be prequalified. The District has determined tentative dates for the bidding of various projects that will require prequalification, however, dates are not currently finalized. Contractors and subcontractors are encouraged to submit a prequalification application as soon as possible, so they may receive prequalification status well in advance of any deadlines. As specific District projects are advertised, the District's Notice Calling for Bids will include any prequalification requirements inclusive of any additional specialty trades, prequalification application submittal deadlines, and any other information as required. Prequalification of prospective bidders and subcontractors will be determined by Quality Bidders' online application system. Contractors who successfully prequalify to bid on District projects, will be considered qualified to bid on a project within one year of the District's prequalification approval, not to exceed the contractor's approval threshold rating and any other requirements set forth by the District. All information provided will be kept confidential to the extent permitted by law. The contents may, however, be disclosed to third parties for purpose of verification, or investigation of substantial allegations, or in the appeal process. State law requires that the names of contractors applying for prequalification status shall be public records subject to disclosure. A contractor may be denied prequalification status for either omission of requested information or falsification of information.
