The work will be let under one Contract if award should be made; and the Owner reserves the right to select the Bid considered by the Owner to be in the best interest of the Owner. The principal items of work to be performed under this Contract. Furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment needed for performing the work according to the Specifications and Contract Documents as hereinafter described. No bids will be received after the time set forth hereinabove and the Proposals will be publicly opened and read. Directional boring, trenching, and associated work for Decatur Utilities electric, gas, and water departments. No bid may be withdrawn after the time for opening of bids has passed. The Owner reserves the right to hold the bids for a period of up to ninety (90) days after the date of receipt of bids. A Bid Bond or cashier's check in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid (but not more than $10,000) must accompany each proposal. The payee of such bond or cashier's check shall be Municipal Utilities Board of Decatur, Morgan County, Alabama. The Bid Bond or cashier's check shall bear the same date as that set for receipt of bids.
