If it becomes necessary to revise any part of this RFB, addenda will be posted on through the Procurement Portal at web site Paving, Central Area District 1.1 This project includes the furnishing, delivering, and applying of Superpave surfacing to certain streets in Baltimore County as noted in the proposal and includes related preparations. It is the intent of this Contract to improve the surface of existing roads by producing a new, even planed, high friction, well drained, road surface. 1.2 Paving on this project shall consist of the placement of Superpave of a specified average thickness, generally laid in one course. In areas where needed, a leveling or wedge course will be used as directed by the Engineer. 1.3 The anticipated total thickness for single course resurfacing shall generally be 1.5 inches. However, depths of 1, 1.25, 2 or 2.5 inches may be noted in the proposal for various streets or the Engineer may determine a need to change the depth as needed. The depths noted are average depths that should be reasonable obtained by the Contractor. Significant differences may preclude full payment. 1.4 The governing specifications for this project will be the Baltimore County Department of Public Works Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials dated September 2024, Standard Details for Construction dated September 2024 and any subsequent addenda, along with the bid solicitation General Conditions, Specifications and General Instructions for Solicitations. 1.5 Unless directed by the Engineer, concrete gutters will not be covered with Superpave. 1.6 The Engineer reserves the right to add certain roadways/streets to the proposal, and to delete certain roadways/streets that are shown in the proposal, and to substitute other locations in order to fulfill the intent of this Contract. Partial roadway repairs are also included under this proposal. 1.7 No surface paving shall be placed between November 30th and March 31st .
