Renovation of an educational facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Reference Number 0000393632 CMGC Preconstruction scope should include cost estimating of the Permit Set or 90% construction document set (CDs Only) and the total project construction scope and project schedule coordination's with allied scopes. CMGC's LNCO Broadcast Suite Remodel: (See attached design development drawing package included by PGA&W Architects, Inc.) PGA&W Architects, Inc. has been working to complete the construction scope within the LNCO building needed to prepare for this state-of-the-art broadcast facility suite. A number of rooms in the existing LNCO building will need upgrading (see attached progress set): o 2750 Broadcast Studio 2750B Press Control Room 3 o 2725 Production Control Room 1 2716 Flex o 2635 Server Room 2723 Master Control Room o 2736 Audio Control Room 1 2728 CAM o 2732 Storage 2710 Audio Control Room 2 o 2716 Production Control Room 2 *Additionally, the new broadcast center construction budget has some specialty needs as well: o CER Central Equipment Room Equipment Room will house bulk of equipment and: o Redundant HVAC cooling connected to emergency generator o Redundant Electrical - Uninterrupted Power Supply / Generator o Raised Floor in Server Room for ease with wire management o Dual Action Fire Extinguisher system to protect equipment from water damages o Cable Trays through out o Appropriate security cameras and card access doors to secure the broadcast suite. Coordination of Owner Supplied Equipment Integrator: CMGC will coordinate owners supplied integrator scope into the project. (See attached Integrator Scope Estimate and Budget Estimate by Sean D. McFarland, Engineering) The University Supplied Integrator Broadcast Equipment Budget is estimated to be about $ 8,000,000. This equipment is already being selected and designed by the university's design team in conjunction with the university's design consultant, Sean E. McFarland, Engineering. The broadcast equipment package including desks, etc. will be sourced by one of 3 available integrators from the United States. The comprehensive integrator scope typically includes coordinating broadcast equipment from all different equipment suppliers, installation, delivery, consolidation, storage, and commissioning the equipment to verify it is working at the end of the project. Integrator will also provide commissioning and training of their supplied equipment. Understanding the integrator scope and how it fits into the LNCO Building CMGC remodel is important. Coordination with this broadcast equipment into the newly remodeled spaces at LNCO will be needed from CMGC. Three Equipment Integrators bidders we are currently considering for our RFP: Diversified Beck-TV Alpha Coordination of Owner Supplied University Information Technologies (UIT): Additionally, fiber communications lines to the athletics venues including football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse; pathways will be upgraded by University IT and is not part of the CMGC contract. This scope includes primarily building to building fiber optic connections. However, coordination will be needed and scopes inside LNCO will be by CMGC. Coordination with Owner Supplied Card Readers (CCure) and Cameras may be required also. Project Risks: 1. Impacts of import tariffs especially on broadcast equipment. 2. Coordination and Implementation of Owner supplied UIT, Data, Internet, CCure (security doors and cameras) and Integrator Broadcast Equipment. 4. Verifying there are no scope gaps especially on Drawings or Contractor Scopes. A responsibility matrix is currently being developed among project team to focus and clarify the design effort and will be part of the contract documents. 5. Managing budget and schedule with predictable outcomes and with accuracy. Special Constraints: Contractor CMGC coordination and implementation with owner scopes like UIT, Security, and Integrator scope is of utmost importance for a successful project.
