Site work and renovation of a transportation facility in Selma, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility; and for site work for a transportation facility.
Relocation of the Historic Selma Train Station Sealed Bids will be received for the following contract: The major project tasks include all labor and materials and equipment to move the Historic Selma Train Station from its current location on East Railroad Street and place it at a new location on South Sellers Street approximately 1,000 feet away. Associated site grading, site preparation, excavation and installation of a concrete mat slab foundation, and support of the building on masonry piers are required along with site restoration. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a Bid Bond payable to the Town of Selma for an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid; or in lieu of the Bid Bond, the bidder may offer the bid deposit in the form of a cashier s check, or a certified check on a bank or trust company insured by the FDIC. The bid bond must be executed by a corporate surety licensed in North Carolina. The bid deposit may be held for a period of sixty (60) days pending award of the contract. Notification of award of the contract shall be evidence of intent to contract and shall extend time for holding the contractor's bid surety for a time mutually agreed between the Town of Selma and the bidder. If Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within fifteen (15) days after Notice of the Award of the Contract. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, with a corporate surety approved by the Town of Selma, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. Bidders shall provide certification that performance and payment bond sureties are licensed in North Carolina. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
