Transmission Steel Pole Corrosion Protection Bid Bond 5% Question Deadline 08/08/2025 at 12:00 PM ET Vendors with questions pertaining to this bid specification must submit them in writing via email to purchasing@keysenergy.com BACKGROUND KEYS electrical system is currently supplied by a single, 138kV transmission line that interconnects with Florida Keys Electric Cooperative's transmission system at Knights Key, Florida. KEYS' existing transmission line system has been in service since the 1960s with some newer lines built in the late 1990s. These lines are critical to the supply of reliable electricity to KEYS customers. PROJECT SUMMARY This project encompasses mobilization/demobilization, measuring, surface cleaning, surface preparation, coating application, and final wrap of steel transmission poles over water and land. The Poles are both steel and galvanized steel construction and are located from Marathon, Florida, to Key West, Florida. Each steel pole on Transmission Lines 6, 7, 8, 9 and 11 will be cleaned and coated from 4' above the base plate down to include the baseplate, nuts/bolts, and under baseplate. Each steel pole on Transmission Lines 3 and 5 will be cleaned and coated from top to bottom In addition, this project requires the repair of damaged pole areas identified by a recent inspection. All structures are located in a subtropical environment with high humidity, high UV radiation, and salt spray and are located within one (1) mile or less from salt water. Because of the harsh salt environment, immediate repair is necessary to extend the life of the existing steel pole and prevent further corrosion. Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary materials, labor, tools, and equipment to complete the scope of work. This project will start with Line 7 at Marathon, FL and continue towards Key West, FL on Line 6, Line 9, Line 3, Line 5, Line 8, and Line 11. SCOPE OF WORK Contractor is to provide services for corrosion maintenance of transmission line steel poles recommended by recent inspection (see attached "Steel Pole Recommendations" at "REFERENCE MATERIAL" Link). Contractor will be tasked for surface cleaning, surface preparation, and coating of the steel poles from 4' above the base plate to the baseplate on lines 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and the full pole on lines 3 & 5, including baseplate, nuts and bolts. The Contractor shall also perform "Steel Pole Recommendations" from the Praxel Inspection on 4/15/2025. Contractor shall provide all necessary materials, labor, tools, and equipment for the project. Contractor is responsible for providing their own boat and means of accessing, launching, and storage of boat.
