Canals - Madison Reservoir Dam Rehabilitation :- The General Scope Of Work Is A Comprehensive Rehabilitation Of An Earthen Embankment Dam, Including: Decommissioning The Existing Low-level Outlet System; Construction Of A New Low-level Outlet Siphon System With Hdpe Pipelines, Valve Houses, Inlet And Outlet Structures; Raising And Widening The Dam Crest; Buttressing And Regrading The Embankment Slopes; Construction Of A Saddle Dike Embankment; Installation Of Embankment Drainage And Monitoring Systems; Demolishing The Existing Concrete Spillway; Constructing A New Concrete Labyrinth Spillway Including A Gate Structure And Steel Bridge; And Additional Site, Electrical, Masonry, And Infrastructure Improvements. The project consists of improvements and modifications to the Madison Reservoir Dam embankments, service and auxiliary spillways, and outlet works; and all other related work as required, indicated and specified. Major components of the Work include: - Mobilization - Construction of temporary facilities and controls, access roads, erosion and sediment control measures. - Decommissioning the existing low-level outlet system, and construction of a filter/drainage system to capture concentrated seepage at the existing valve house. Dismantling, relocation, and reconstruction of the historic valve house. Conveyance of the seepage flow to the relocated valve house. -Earthwork improvements to the outboard slopes of both dam embankments generally consisting of installation of filter and drainage systems, raising and widening the dam crests, buttressing and grading (flattening) the slopes, installing access roads and other improvements. -Buttressing of the inboard slopes of both dam embankments with rockfill (rip rap). - Constructing a new saddle dike embankment adjacent to the right abutment to block off a low-lying area (relative to the dam crest). -Demolishing the existing concrete service spillway and replacing it with anew labyrinth crested concrete spillway, chute, stilling basin and appurtenances. -Abandonment of an outlet tunnel through the left embankment including, concrete bulkheading, grouting, installation of a leakage and seepage collection and monitoring system.
