Site work and new construction of a civil project in Calpine, California. Completed plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project consists of the drilling and completion of a 570-foot deep public water supply well; the installation of a well pump and related equipment; the construction of a new well building with chemical feed, controls and telemetry and site work at well location site; the installation of ap proximately 1650-feet of 6-inch diameter C900 transmission pipeline from the new well building to a new water treatment building; the construction of a new water treatment building with filters, con trols, backwash system and site work; the construction of a new 16,000-gallon bolted steel backwas h tank; and installation of telemetry equipment at a remote tank site and one existing well site. Bidders must comply with the Instructions to Bidders and will be responsible for acquiring and complying with requirements of all Addenda. Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed forms and accompanied by cash, a cashier's check, certified check or bid bond executed on the prescribed form payable to the District in an amount not less than 10 percent of the amount bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a payment bond and faithful performance bond each in the full amount of the Contract price, and insurance with certificates and endorsements of insurance, as provided in the Contract Documents. The required bonds must be provided only by a surety insurer who is admitted to do business by and in good standing with the California Department of Insurance The successful bidder must possess the following classification or type of contractor's license issued by the Contractors State License Board: Class A, California. ids that equal or exceed $1,000,000 must be accompanied by an Iran Contracting Act certification in the form provided in section 1.9. The District reserves the right to reject all bids. Any bid not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Contract Documents may be rejected. The District may extend the time to award the Contract. Work under this section shall include, but not be limited to, furnishing and placing all materials for mass concrete and reinforced concrete, reinforcing steel and supports, expansion joint fillers, water-stops, floor hardener, bonding agents, packing and nonshrink grout, epoxy anchors; constructing and removing form work, measuring, mixing and transporting concrete; placing, conveying, and vibrating concrete; installing construction and expansion joints, removing the forms, curing and protecting the concrete, finishing the concrete; placing concrete fillets, topping and equipment pads; and testing for quality and water-tightness. This Section includes a description of requirements for materials and services necessary to complete earthwork including trenching, excavation, backfill, structural fill, and compaction as shown and/or specified for construction of all work related to the project. This section covers all plain and reinforced concrete for the project and comprises the requirements for all materials, labor, tools and equipment needed for mixing, placing and curing the concrete. This section describes the requirements for concrete including, but not limited to, materials to be used, forms and details of construction, workmanship, and measurement and payment. This section describes inserts into cast-in-place concrete work. A. Provide and install coatings on all exposed surfaces, as indicated herein, and as indicated in these Specifications and on the Drawings. B. Coating specifications for steel tanks are found in the applicable tank specification. A. The work to be performed under this section includes the construction and installation of one bolted steel water storage tank (approximately 16,000 gallons) including site preparation, grade ring, granular tank pad, inlet/outlet piping and appurtenances, interior and exterior coating of the tank and related work. B. The Contractor shall furnish, erect, test and disinfect the bolted steel tank and foundation described in these specifications and shown on the drawings. C. The steel tank shall have a nominal diameter of 18 feet and a nominal shell height of 10 feet and an AWWA Type 5 foundation. A. The work under this section includes all equipment, labor and material necessary to furnish and install a complete raceway system including fittings, boxes and supports. B. Raceway shown in the schedule with multiple conduits shall be used for installing different types of conductors; for example power (120, 208, 240 and 480 VAC) conductors in the first conduit, control (discrete 24 and 120 VAC) conductors in the second and signal (analog 4-20 mA, 24 VDC and other instrumentation) conductors in the third. A. Applicable provisions of Section 26 00 00 are incorporated herein as though fully set forth at length. B. Ground Power system, electrical equipment and raceway grounding and bonding, and specialized systems including testing. C. Work Included: Furnish all labor, material, equipment, tools and services necessary for the installation, connection and testing of all grounding as specified herein and as shown on the Drawings. A. Flush and disinfect all pipelines installed under this Contract as indicated in the Drawings. This would include furnishing the necessary labor, tools, transportation, and other equipment for the operation of valves, hydrants, and blowoffs during chlorination. Install, and if directed by the District, remove all chlorination taps required for disinfection. Disinfection will be performed under the supervision of the Engineer. A. Install electrically continuous tracer wire with access points as described herein to be used for locating pipe with an electronic pipe locator after installation. Tracer wire shall be installed on all water mains and services, all wastewater lines and sewer mains and services and all wastewater force mains. Work Included: Furnish and install all materials and perform all labor necessary for the installation of the chemical feed equipment for the domestic water treatment system including chemical storage, feed pumps, tubing, injection systems, and other equipment for a complete installed, tested and operational liquid chemical feed system, in accordance with the Plans and Contract Documents. Work Included: Furnish and install all materials and perform all labor necessary for the installation of the carbon dioxide feed system for pH adjustment including gas manifold, control valve, ph analyzer, vacuum regulator, ejector, heater (s), gas cylinders, scale, bypass pump and other equipment for a complete installed, tested and operational co2 feed system, in accordance with the Plans and Contract Documents. SOUND & VOICE TRANSMISSION (Music, Intercom, Nurse Call, Telephone); FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS [excluding fire alarm work when installed in raceways (including wire and cable pulling) and when performed on new or major remodel building projects or jobs], TELEVISION & VIDEO SYSTEMS, SECURITY SYSTEMS, COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS that transmit or receive information and/or control systems that are intrinsic to the above. Includes the installation testing, service and maintenance, of the following systems which utilize the transmission and/or transference of voice, sound, vision and digital for commercial, education, security and entertainment purposes for the following TV monitoring and surveillance, background-foreground music, intercom and telephone interconnect, inventory control systems, microwave transmission, multi-media, multiplex, nurse call system, radio page, school intercom and sound, burglar alarms, and low voltage master clock systems.
