Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Covington, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

**As of August 16th, 2025, the project was awarded to Riegler Blacktop, with an awarded amount of $166,887.50.** The project includes the resurfacing of approximately 78,000 square feet of walking paths, totaling an estimated 9,750 linear feet. Work shall include peeling existing asphalt where necessary to ensure a flush asphalt finish and proper water drainage. All paths must be thoroughly cleaned both manually and using power blowers. Excess grass on existing paths is to be torched as needed. A tack coat adhesive (SS1H) must be applied prior to paving. The resurfacing will consist of placing and compacting 2.5 inches of surface 404 asphalt over the entire section. Following paving, all walking paths are to be backed with topsoil, then seeded and covered with straw to ensure proper restoration. A successful bidder shall work on a continuous basis, weather permitting, during normal business days between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. At the end of each workday and at the completion of the project, the successful bidder shall be responsible for removal and proper disposal of all materials from the project's installation. Any areas that are damaged or disturbed during the installation is the responsibility of the bidder to repair it at no additional cost. Final determination on whether an area has been damaged or disturbed shall be determined by The County. The contract shall commence from the Date of Award until all terms and conditions of the specifications are met but no later than twenty-one (21) days from commencement. Any services ordered or made within thirty (30) days after the Contract expires shall be under the same terms and conditions specified in the bid and contract prices submitted by the vendor, unless said vendor indicates, in writing, thirty (30) days prior to the contract expiration, that it shall not be bound by said terms, conditions and contract prices. A Bid Bond amounting to five (5%) percent of the proposed bid/proposal price must be provided with the response. The Bid Bond may be in the form of a surety bond, cashier check or other form of surety satisfactory to the county attorney. If the contract is awarded to the bonded bidder, the bidder will accept the contract as bid, or else the surety will pay the Fiscal Court a specific amount because of default on part of the bidder. A Performance Surety Bond amounting to one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract price must be provided prior to execution of the contract assuring Kenton County that the project will be pursued with due diligence and completed according to the plans and specifications. This requirement may also be met by a letter of credit. Questions must be submitted by 4:00pm on July 31, 2025.
