North Carolina A&T State University is seeking quotes from qualified contractors to resurface the outdoor basketball courts located behind the building adjacent to Moore Gymnasium. The total resurfacing area is approximately 11,250 square feet. This project supports the University's continued commitment to providing safe, functional, and visually appealing recreational facilities for student use. The existing court surfaces have deteriorated due to weather exposure and consistent usage, resulting in uneven play areas, faded court markings, and general wear and tear. Resurfacing will restore the courts to a safe and playable condition, suitable for recreational and intramural activities. Project Requirements: All work must be completed no later than October 17, 2025. No work shall be performed between October 6th-October 11th, 2025, due to Homecoming events and related campus activities. Surface Removal and Preparation _ Remove and dispose of existing asphalt and fencing (if included in quote). _ Carefully remove and store basketball goals and posts for reinstallation. _ Clean surface of all loose debris, materials, and foreign substances. _ Recompact existing stone base to support new asphalt (minimum 95% standard Proctor density). 2. Asphalt Installation _ Install up to 3 inches of 9.5mm surface asphalt in uniform, fully compacted lifts. _ Asphalt must meet NCDOT specifications or equivalent for recreational surfaces. 3. Resurfacing System _ Apply a minimum of two (2) coats of 100% acrylic resurfacing material. _ Coatings must be UV-resistant and color-pigmented (color to be selected by the University). _ All materials must comply with USTA and ASTM F2772 standards. 4. Court Striping _ Stripe courts using 2-inch-wide white acrylic line paint. _ Striping must conform to NCAA or NFHS basketball standards. 5. Fencing (Include in Quote #1 Only) _ Install new 10-foot chain-link fencing (galvanized or vinyl-coated steel). _ Include top rail and tension wire. _ Replace fencing only in areas where existing fencing was removed. 6. Equipment Protection and Reintegration _ Ensure basketball goal poles, light poles, and drain grates remain undisturbed unless directed otherwise. _ Reinstall basketball goals/posts at original locations using existing or new hardware as needed. Materials and Products _ All materials (asphalt, coatings, paint, fencing) must be commercial-grade and appropriate for athletic use. _ Include manufacturer product sheets in your submittal. _ All products must be installed according to the manufacturer's instructions and coverage rates.
