Site work for a power facility in Centre Village, New Brunswick. Working plans call for site work for a power facility.
Construction of a power generation facility to be used when there is no access to renewable energy sources. Scope to include: a 500MW power generating station with 10 dual-fueled combustion turbine generators (CTGs) in a simple-cycle arrangement. It will be connected via a 138 kV line to NB Power's existing transmission network adjacent to the site and be used to fill renewable energy supply gaps when needed. Location is PID 70113592 in Centre Village, in the Parish of Sackville, County of Westmoreland, set back approximately 1.5km east of Route 940. TIMELINE: Project is in design. Owner is currently seeking government approvals, specifically though an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and through the NB Energy and Utilities Board (UEB). NB Power has signed a 10-year deal with Nova Scotia's IESO to cost-share and allow NS to access up to 100 MW of power. Equipment, engineering, construction, and commissioning will be handled in-house by the developer. Further update may be available fall 2026. *Project will operate under a power purchase agreement with NB Power for 25 years. *The Consultant completed the following assessments in support of the EIA - Acoustic Assessment Report; Air Dispersion Modelling Study; Water Supply Source Assessment - Initial Application.
