Work contemplated to be performed under this contract is as follows: o Construct approximately 11,100 LF of ductile iron water mains and appurtenances o Install new fire hydrant assemblies, o Install replacement water services, o Install PRV Vault and Appurtenances o Relocate existing utilities (as required), o Abandon asbestos cement pipe, o Restore surface conditions, including asphalt trench patching, concrete curbs, gutters and sidewalks, o Perform Traffic control, o Other work as required to complete the project. BID BOND REQUIRED: Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond in the form of cash, certified check, cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to at least 5% of the amount of such bid. Checks shall be made payable to the City Treasurer. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into a contract and furnish a satisfactory performance and payment bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid bond shall be forfeited to the City of Bellevue. The City reserves the right to modify or not modify the supplemental criteria in its discretion. The City shall issue an Addendum, prior to the Bid Due Date, should it modify the supplemental criteria. The City shall not modify the supplemental criteria after the Bid Due Date, therefore, Bidders are encouraged to discuss with the project manager immediately and before the Bid Due Date the relevancy of the supplemental bidder criteria. Any bidder determined to be not responsible based on these supplemental criteria may appeal the City's determination by providing additional information to the City within two 2 business days following receipt of the City's written determination that the bidder was determined not responsible. The City of Bellevue reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in the bidding process. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date and time set for the opening thereof. Contractor shall not start construction of proposed PRV vault and appurtenances or demolition of existing PRV vault on 92nd Avenue until January 1, 2026 to allow time for Comcast to relocate conflicting duct(s), and for Clyde Hill to issue permits for Work in Clyde Hill. Contractor to coordinate irrigation service shutdown with golf course prior to start of construction on the irrigation service on 1519 184 th Ave NE and new 4-in irrigation service along 1525 184 th Ave NE to the golf course. This technical memorandum summarizes Geosyntec Consultants, Inc.'s (Geosyntec) geotechnical engineering evaluation for the proposed water main replacement along NE 30th St between 92nd Ave NE and 96th Ave NE in Clyde Hill, Washington (Site; Figure 1), also known as Phase 1 Site A in the City of Bellevue 2024 Water Main Replacements Program. Our work was performed at your request to provide geotechnical engineering design and construction recommendations for a pressure reducing valve (PRV) vault, vault and trench excavation, dewatering, trench bedding and backfill, and pavement restoration. Our conclusions and recommendations are based on our understanding of the proposed improvements, results of our desktop data review, conditions encountered during our Site reconnaissance and subsurface exploration on February 26, 2024, and our experience with similar projects in this setting. The Site is within the City of Clyde Hill right-of-way (ROW) along NE 30th St between 92nd Ave NE and 96th Ave NE. The watermain utility is owned and operated by the City of Bellevue (City).
