The City of Paris KY is accepting sealed proposals from qualified contractors 2025 street resurfacing. Paving: A preconstruction meeting will occur before any work begins. All streets will be marked from start to finish and in width with white paint before the bidding process. The specifications are based on 1.5" of surface on each street. Care should be taken to rake joints between runs to prevent seams. Milling is to be done 2-3 feet from the curb line, unless otherwise noted below. Where existing asphalt is flush with the gutter, approximately two (2) feet wide and 1-2 inches deep should be milled. In areas where little or no curb remains, or asphalt is not flush with the gutter, the contractor will mill to a depth that will expose the curb or allow the new asphalt to be flush with the gutter. The city wishes to achieve a minimum 3" curb where no curb exists. Milling at intersections should be provided for a smooth interface with crossing streets. All manhole covers will need to be milled around to maintain a smooth asphalt surface. The city intends to mill to prevent and/or reduce existing or potential drainage problems. The City Manager or designee will make decisions regarding milling Please provide the price per ton for asphalt and the price per ton for milling, along with any quantity discounts. Also, include any discount for the city stockpiling milling for our use. The City of Paris reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive informalities, and award the contract in the best interest of the City.
