Renovation of a water / sewer project in North Kingstown, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
As of October 3, 2025, this project has been awarded. Provide all labor, equipment, materials, fixtures, and appliances for a finished Women's locker room, shower, and new laundry area at the Quonset Wastewater Treatment Facility. A Project Manual (consisting of Bid Form, Form of Contract, Contract General Provisions, Contract Supplementary Provisions and Technical Specifications) and Drawings may be examined at the office where bids are to be received, Quonset Development Corporation (Issuing Office). A copy of these documents may be obtained, upon request directed to Mr William Young. P.E., Director of Public Works, Quonset Development Corporation, Quonset Business Park, 95 Cripe Street, North Kingstown, Rhode Island (Telephone No. 401-295-0044 ext. 224). Only electronic copies (pdfs) of plans and specifications are available. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee in the amount of Twenty Percent (20%) of the Base Bid Amount (section C-200 Article 8). The Contractor to whom the contract is awarded will be required to post performance and payment bonds in the amount of One Hundred Percent (100%) of the contract price. Bonds shall be executed on Engineer's Joint Contract Documents Committee format (EJCDC No. C-610, EJDC No. C-615 or on comparable format which is approved in advance by the Quonset Development Corporation). The bonds shall be issued by a company that is acceptable to the Quonset Development Corporation. A minimum requirement for acceptability shall be that the Surety Company is currently listed on U.S. Department of the Treasury Circular #570 as holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as holding a Surety License in the State of Rhode Island. An appropriate Certificate of Corporate Authority shall accompany the required performance and payment bonds. Work for which OSHA Ten (10) Hour Construction Safety Program is required. No person, firm, entity or corporation shall enter into, engage in, solicit, advertise, bid for, or work on a Quonset Development Corporation construction project(s) with a total project cost of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) or more unless that person, firm, entity or corporation has an OSHA Ten Hour Construction Safety Program for their on-site employees. All contractor works must have taken and successfully passed the OSHA Subpart AA of 29 CFR 1926, 1910.146 requirements for Confined Space Entry Training. Contractor must have confined space entry equipment including but not limited to hoist, tripod, gas monitoring, ventilation, portable communications devices, ect. The attention of the bidder is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and wage rates to be paid under the contract. This includes payroll recording requirements in conformity with the provision of Chapter 13 of Title 37 of General Laws, Rhode Island 1956, and the Davis-Bacon Wages Rates as amended. Executive Order 14173, signed on January 21, 2025, rescinded Executive Order 11246. QDC still requires all contractors submitting bids to sign the EEO Certificate of Compliance form as part of their bid package. All references to Executive Order 11246 in this project manual are not applicable when this project was issued for bid.
