Renovation of an educational facility in Champaign, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Illini Union Elevator Modernization There are two buildings within the scope of work: Illini Union (#0023) and Illini Union Book Store (#0106) Illini Union (#0023): 1. Replacing existing traction elevators and their components with new components for E1, E2, E5 & E6 Providing new machines, selectors, governors and controllers, new cabs and associated construction, new hoist way doors and hardware, new code required two-way communication system. Elevator components including existing platforms, slings, frames and counterweights are to be replaced on a case by case basis for each elevator in accordance with Division 14 Specifications. The project will also replace existing pit equipment. Any code-required upgrades to the equipment, including but not limited to, ventilation, fire hats, sump pumps, etc. will also be included in this project. The work will be within the elevator shafts, elevator machine room and other associated spaces. Elevator E7 is currently a public elevator, this project will change this from public use to service elevator. The scope will be limited to removal from the current power source which is combined with Elevators E5 & E6. Work shall address deficiencies in the Americans Disabilities Act (ADA). 2. Elevator Mechanical Room: Exhaust Fan, Air conditioning, ventilation, Fire protection and suppression work and integration, rerouting of water line, all non-compliant code related items. 3. Elevator Shaft: Pit Ladder, Pit lighting, Pit Sump Pump and pit, Rail slipper Guides changed to Roller Guides, Cab, Cab doors and operating components, Cab controls including ADA Push Pad Controls, Call buttons and Car position indicators. Miscellaneous items include Fire protection, suppression and integration, all non-compliant code related items. 4. Access controls are required to control access at each floor. Illini Union Book Store (#0106): The Illini Union Bookstore has one public traction elevator that is also used as the bookstore's service elevator. The basement level, first floor and second floor belong to the bookstore. Levels three, four and five are assigned to other campus users. Wright StChampaign, IL., 61820 The Bidder, before submitting a bid for this Work, shall visit and carefully examine the site of the Work in order to have full knowledge of, and to fully understand and appreciate, the facilities, difficulties, and restrictions attending the performance of the contract for which a bid is submitted. The Bidder shall take all required measurements and carefully inspect all existing conditions, constructions, irregularities, and interferences which may affect the Work under this contract.
