Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Chapleau, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Chapleau Cree First Nation is looking for qualified Contractors to provide Tender bids for the construction of a road with water and sewer servicing for a future twenty-two-lot subdivision located at the south end of the Chapleau Cree First Nation community. The subdivision is approximately 285m in length and includes sanitary sewers, watermain, a communal septic field and streetlighting installation that will be coordinated with Hydro One. The project will also include lot servicing, road construction, site grading and the installation of ditches and culverts throughout the subdivision. The full scope of the work is prescribed in detail in the attached tender documents. Without limiting the specifics of these requirements, the work generally consists of: 1. Removal of trees, rock, clearing and grubbing as required to be completed the proposed work. 2. Coordination with a certified C.L.S. to complete additional survey in the septic field area. 3. Coordination to complete a minimum of two (2) additional test pits in the septic field area to confirm soil conditions. 4. Protection of existing site features that are to remain. 5. Supply and install of new communal septic system with associated fencing, tanks and features. 6. Supply and install of new watermain and associated services to each lot. 7. Supply and install of new sanitary sewer main and associated services to each lot. 8. Supply and install of new granular material and asphalt for roadway. 9. Coordination with Hydro One for installation of new hydro poles, streetlight attachments, septic system electrical service and lot servicing. 10. Coordination with Vianet Communications for installation telecommunications cabling, pole attachment coordination and lot servicing. 11. Supply and install of new pole mounted streetlighting. 12. Supply and install of granular material and culverts for driveways and hydrant crossings. 13. Restoration of all areas disturbed during construction to an equivalent or better condition than existed prior to construction. J.L. Richards & Associates Limited (JLR) will administer the construction contract, with construction review being carried out by JLR, Mushkegowuk Council Technical Services, and the Chapleau Cree First Nation. All works to be in accordance with Drawings prepared by J.L. Richards & Associates Limited, approved by the Mushkegowuk Council Technical Services and Chapleau Cree First Nation. The Contractor shall review the Drawings prior to the commencement of the works to estimate the quantities required for the proposed works. The Drawings are only for the sole purpose of indicating to the Contractor the general magnitude of the work. It is the Contractor's responsibility to verify all quantities. The successful Contractor, together with a surety company approved by the Owner and authorized by law to carry on business in the Province of Ontario, shall, unless otherwise directed, will be required to furnish to the Owner a Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total tender price and a Labour and Material Payment Bond in the amount of 50% of the Total Tender Price. The Tenderer shall tender for the cost of bonding in the item provided for that purpose in the Form of Tender on the assumption that the bonds will remain in full force without reduction until the end of the maintenance period.
