Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. A. Scope of Work. The Contractor shall provide the labor, tools, equipment and material necessary for all salvage, demolition, removal, renovation, and relocation in accordance with the plans and as specific herein. All Items required to be demolished shall be demolished and removed complete and disposed of lawfully as described herein, except items noted herein as being salvaged for the Owner. B. Payment for all demolition work will be made on a lump sum basis and shall include all demolition work specified under this section and as indicated on the plans. C. PCB and Mercury Removal and Disposal: The handling of any fluorescent lighting fixtures and ballasts containing PCB or mercury is subject to all applicable state and federal mandates and regulations. The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of the material in accordance with applicable regulations. All costs associated with said removal and disposal shall be considered incidental and shall be included in the lump sum bid for demolition. The project includes but is not limited to the rehabilitation of Water Treatment Plant Filter Cells No. 5 and 7. The work includes removal of the existing filter cell contents (Flumes/Troughs/Media/Underdrain System), preparation of concrete surfaces, coating/lining of the concrete filter cells, hydrostatic testing of the cells, installation of filter cell contents (Underdrain System/Media/Troughs/Flumes), start-up, placing the filter cells back into operation and all other work required for the completion of the project. Any bid received after the time and date specified shall not be considered. NO bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least ninety (90) days. One set of printed Contract Documents, Specifications and Drawings may be obtained upon payment of an additional non-refundable fee of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00) plus 7% sales tax, via the web-based service of Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. at Online . The OWNER reserves the right to reject any bid, or all bids, or to accept any bid or bids, or to make such combination of bids as may seem desirable, and to waive any and all informalities in bidding. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of bids or authorized postponement thereof.
