The project consists of the following: Base Bid: Reconstruction of Township Road T829, also known as Campground Road. Add/Alternate Bid: Milling and Resurfacing of Township Road T-789, also known as Main Road. Bidder must deposit with his/her Bid, security in the amount of 10% of the Bid in the form of a certified check or Bid Bond. A Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder prior to contract award as well as a Certificate of Insurance, which names the municipality as additional insured. All work shall be completed within 60 calendar days. Liquidated damages apply at the rate of $500 per calendar day. The Owner hereby reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids submitted. The work generally consists of furnishing all equipment, labor, and materials necessary to complete the following tasks: o Milling: o Mill the roadway two (2) inches in depth. o Properly dispose of all milled and unsuitable material. o Base repair may be necessary in areas of large potholes. Mill to applicable depth and place appropriate 25 mm base course material to milled roadway surface elevation allowing for one and one-half (1-1/2) inches of Superpave 9.5mm wearing course to be place on top. o Paving: o Apply a leveling (scratch) course to the entire road surface. o Broom and Tack Coat the surface. o Overlay the entire surface with one and one-half (1-1/2) inches of Superpave 9.5mm wearing course. o Contractor to seal all pavement joints and ensure driveway and road tie in locations match in elevation. o Pavement Markings: o Install 4" double yellow centerline and 4" white edge line markings. o Notifications: o Notify all abutting property owners at least three (3) days in advance of commencement of work.
