HVAC Replacement The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) is requesting proposals from qualified HVAC firms to provide Contractor services to replace 2 rooftop HVAC Package Units and 1 Condenser at the BRTA Intermodal Transportation Center in Pittsfield, MA. 3 additional stand-alone rooftop units should also be quoted for replacement as Alternate Pricing, if there are remaining grant funds after replacement of 2 Package Units and 1 condenser. Any contract awarded under this Request for Proposals (RFP) is subject to financial assistance contracts between the BRTA and the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and/or the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). The contract will therefore be subject to the regulations of both FTA and MassDOT. This project needs to be completed and accepted by BRTA by June 20, 2026. The BRTA reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals as it deems in its own best interest. Scope of Work: The contract includes replacing 2 rooftop HVAC package units and 1 condenser, with 3 additional standalone rooftop units quoted as alternate pricing. Proposals should include all labor, materials, equipment, disposal, connections to Johnson Controls, testing, balancing, and related services. Written questions can be submitted in addition prior to 11:00 AM DST on August 21, 2025. Questions and requests regarding the RFP can be directed to info@berkshirerta.gov The project involves the replacement of the HVAC system at the BRTA Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) in Pittsfield, MA. Specifically, the project requires qualified HVAC contractors to remove and replace: 2 rooftop HVAC Package Units 1 condenser unit These units are currently rooftop units manufactured by Trane with models TTA120B330EA (condenser), YCD151C3HCAA (package unit), and YHC120A3 (package unit), all installed in 2004 and assessed as past their useful life needing replacement or restoration. Additionally, there are 3 smaller stand-alone rooftop AC units that should be quoted for replacement as "Alternate Pricing" if remaining funds allow. These smaller units are also Trane models TTB018C100A2, TTB024C100A2, and TTB012C100A2. The scope of work includes all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and services necessary to: Furnish, deliver, unload, install, test, and place in satisfactory operation the new HVAC system equipment. Remove and properly dispose of existing equipment. Ensure compatibility with the existing Johnson Controls system. Recover and dispose of refrigerants according to environmental regulations. Conduct testing, balancing, and factory-supported startup services. Install duct smoke detectors and provision wiring as required by code. Coordinate installation with the existing building structure and systems. The project must be completed and accepted by BRTA by June 20, 2026. The contract is subject to federal and state funding restrictions and regulations, including those from the U.S. DOT, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE (DBE) The contractor or subcontractor shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or sex in the performance of this contract. The contractor shall carry out applicable requirements of 49 C.F.R. part 26 in the award and administration of DOT- assisted contracts. Failure by the contractor to carry out these requirements is a material breach of this contract, which may result in the termination of this contract or such other remedy as the Agency deems appropriate, which may include, but is not limited to: (1)Withholding monthly progress payments; (2)Assessing sanctions; (3)Liquidated damages; and/or (4)Disqualifying the contractor from future bidding as non-responsible
