The Work to be undertaken generally involves, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: Decommissioning of the inactive landfill cell at the Village of Avonlea Landfill. Waste excavation, reconsolidation, regrading, and compaction within the capping area footprint to design grades in the Drawings. Reclamation of the areas disturbed during construction with topsoil, and hydroseeding where indicated in the Drawings. Excavate from on-site borrow suitable soils or from imported stockpiles to construct final cap for the Landfill's subgrade, compacted clay layer, and topsoil layer. Hauling asphalt stockpile to acceptable offsite recycling or disposal facility, pending decision by the Owner. Mobilization and demobilization of equipment to/from the Site including: construction and maintenance of haul roads, laydown, operational areas as needed; Prime Contractor duties; Site safety and environmental protection plans and responsibilities; obtaining necessary permits; excavation and reclamation of local borrow area; Site erosion controls; line locates; protection of infrastructure and facilities; all temporary works and facilities necessary to complete the project; all surveying and construction layout; and final clean up and project close out.
