Site work and renovation of a power facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a power facility.
This project involves the partial replacement of deteriorated wetted area structural members and full replacement of drift eliminators in four (4) cooling tower cells at the Butler-Warner Generation plant. The work includes demolition and disposal of damaged materials, installation of new FRP structural framing, installation of Brentwood CF80 15 mil cellular drift eliminator panels, site cleanup, and final test run. Work is expected to begin no earlier than October 6, 2025, and must commence no later than October 13, 2025. The foregoing description shall not be construed as a complete description of all work required. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond of five percent (5%) of the bid executed by a surety company licensed under the laws of North Carolina to execute the Contract in accordance with the bid bond and upon failure to forthwith make payment, the surety shall pay the obligee an amount equal to the amount of said bond. Said deposit shall be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages in event of failure of the successful bidder to execute the Contract within ten (10) days after the Notice of Award or give satisfactory surety as required by law. Performance and Payment Bonds are required in the amount of 100% of the Contract amount and shall be furnished by the Contractor. All Contractors are notified that North Carolina Statutory provisions as to licensing of Contractors will be followed as applicable in receiving and evaluating bids and in reading and awarding the Contract. The license classification shall be: Part 1: NC GC License with a Building Classification (Limited or higher). North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development, the FSU CRO offers services and support to help small, minority, veteran, and women-owned businesses identify and compete for construction-related projects. At the FSU CRO, potential bidders may: Research, view and print project drawings to scale free of charge; Use available software to prepare their bid; and Receive certification and pre-qualification assistance. Fayetteville Public Works Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason determined by PWC to be in its best interest, or to award the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, taking into consideration quality, performance, and the time specified in the bids for the performance of the contract. The bidder to whom the contract may be awarded must comply fully with the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129, as amended. No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled Bid Opening for a period of ninety (90) calendar days. Bid Date Note : Bids must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to JoAnn Bowman, Procurement Advisor, Fayetteville Public Works Commission, 955 Old Wilmington Road, Fayetteville, North Carolina 28301. The outside of the envelope must be marked SEALED BID: INTERIOR STRUCTURE AND FILL MEDIA REPLACEMENT and shall indicate the name, address and state license number of the bidder.
