The work to be performed hereunder is located in the Cities of Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Hills, and Mission Viejo along and near the Alicia Parkway corridor. The work to be performed shall include, but not be limited to upgrades to the traffic signal systems. Traffic signal system upgrades include video detection systems, CCTV systems, pull boxes and conduit, traffic signal controllers, ethernet switches, fiber optic cables, fiber distribution units, cables, wireless radio systems, fiber splice enclosures, inductive loop detectors, GPS EVP sensors, accessible pedestrian signal assemblies, traffic signal controller cabinets and foundations, service cabinets and foundations, and battery backup systems and cabinets. Each Bid shall be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier’s check, or bid bond secured from a surety company satisfactory to the City, the amount of which shall not be less than ten percent (10%) of the submitted Total Bid Price, made payable to City of Laguna Niguel as bid security. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond and a labor and material payment bond each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price. Unless otherwise provided in the Instructions for Bidders, each Bidder shall be a licensed contractor pursuant to sections 7000 et seq. of the Business and Professions Code in the following classification(s) throughout the time it submits its Bid and for the duration of the contract: A – General Engineering. Additionally, all traffic signal (and/or street lighting) work under this Contract shall be considered specialty in nature. Any Contractor and/or subcontractor proposing to perform this specialty work must possess a valid Class C-10 – Electrical Contractor license prior to award of contract. Persons performing the work of an electrician shall be certified in accordance with California Labor Code Section 3099. Proof of Certification shall be provided to the City prior to commencement of work. Question Deadline 05/26/2026 at 5:00 PM PT. Estimated Bid Value $2,774,826.72. Project Duration 180 working days. City reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any Bids or in the bidding process.
