Sibley Volcanic Preserve Trail Corridor Vegetation Removal and Fuel Reduction - Coyote Brush Trail Thin mature eucalyptus stand and reduce ladder and surface fuels, and thin scrubland brush areas on approximately 1.9 acres in Sibley Regional Park, Oakland Work Period: The project is anticipated to begin in November 2025 and can proceed until bird nesting season commences on February 1, 2025. If extreme weather prevents work, the project will resume in August 2026, due to proximity to an eagle nest. The Park District is seeking proposals from experienced, reputable, and qualified Licensed Timber Operators and/or Tree Service Contractors to selectively remove eucalyptus, pines and other trees and to reduce ladder fuels and accumulated surface fuels on 1.9 acres in Sibley Regional Park. The project area includes native plants. During the entire project, the protection and preservation of these native plants is of high importance. The Contractor shall avoid adverse impacts to cultural resources, habitat, and wildlife. All proposals must be complete. The accepted proposal will be included as part of the specifications and conditions of the final agreement. Bidders must be prepared to make all determinations of feasibility necessary to complete the proposal. 4 The Park District reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals, to modify the terms of the Request either before or after the deadline for submission of proposals, to negotiate contract terms as required, to call for additional proposals, to refrain from accepting any proposal, or to elect to perform work in only part of the project area. All proposals become the property of the Park District and are subject to public disclosure laws. Questions and clarifications to the RFP will be accepted until August 13. Answers will be posted to Online no later than August 19, 2025. All proposals shall be uploaded to Online, not turned in by hard copy. Late proposals will not be accepted.
