In addition to performing the work outlined as part of the lump sum portion of the contract, the contractor may be required to perform other work including, but not limited to: Supplying additional components for the systems. Replacement of existing components of a system. - Additional inspections of a system resulting from changes to the system. - Authorized changes to a system resulting from the contractor's recommendation or approved changes. 2. All extra work will be paid at the unit rates submitted or as authorized under GC15 Valuation and Certification of Changes in the Work. This contract is generally intended to include some extra work, authorized by unit prices or other arrangement, of a minor nature and/or emergency nature. Work of a more extensive nature may be authorized under this contract but will normally be awarded by a fixed price work order, obtained through a separate invited or public tender. 3. The Owner does not guarantee that the Contractor will be authorized to carry out any extra work. The Owner reserves the right to tender any extra work and/or have the work completed by own forces. The Owner reserves the right, when deemed appropriate by the Director, to obtain competitive quotations by invited or public tender and have other contractors perform selected items of work. In such instances, the Contractor will be given opportunity to bid. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
