Renovation of a water / sewer project in Forest Lake, Minnesota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Electrical equipment replacement at four sewage pumping stations, including HVAC and site work A. This section specifies requirements for tight earth retention systems for trenches greater than 4 feet in depth, maintenance access structure replacement pits (MHs) and other excavations. B. The excavation support systems shall be designed and installed to: 1. Protect existing buildings, streets, walkways, bridges, abutments or retaining walls, utilities, significant trees, and other improvements. 2. Prevent against loss of ground or caving embankments, settlement, consolidation due to dewatering. 3. Provide a suitable excavation for the installation of structures and pipes. 4. Provide a tight (watertight) excavation where necessary. See paragraph 1.3.A below for "watertight" definition(s). 5. While tight (watertight) excavations may be necessary at several locations, tight (watertight) earth retention systems shall be provided for the installation of CO 1A and CO 1 MH structures given their proximity to adjacent wetlands. A. Work includes the following items: 1. Lift stations L01, L02 and L03 drywells (See Appendix A photos.) a. Paint all concrete surfaces including walls, ceiling and riser sections, with the exception of the concrete floor surfaces. b. Paint all new and existing metal conduit attached to the walls. c. The following items are not required to be painted: 1) Concrete floor surfaces 2) Pumps and all piping 3) Metal platforms and stairs 4) Electrical panels 2. Do not paint over any code-required labels, such as Underwriters' Laboratories and Factory Mutual, or any equipment identification, performance rating, name, or nomenclature plates. A. Furnish and install a standby service engine-generator system as shown on the Drawings and described herein. B. Provide qualified field service engineer(s) to perform the specified field services. These services shall include, but not be limited to; start-up and testing for each furnished engine-generator assembly, operator training and training of COUNCIL maintenance personnel. C. The engine and generator assemblies and all associated systems and equipment shall be new, previously unused equipment. D. The equipment furnished within this contract shall make up complete and fully functional standby power systems as shown on the Drawings and as otherwise specified. CONTRACTOR shall complete the Work in the manner and within the time specified in the Contract Documents and furnish labor, materials, tools, appliances, and other items necessary or incidental to the Work required by or reasonably inferred from the Contract Documents. CONTRACTOR shall be solely responsible for the means, methods, and techniques of construction, except for means, methods, or techniques expressly detailed on the Drawings or explicitly required by the Specifications. A. Coordinate concrete repair work with work of other Sections. B. Work includes removal of deteriorated/delaminated concrete, surface preparation in accordance with manufacturer's product data, and all concrete patching. C. The Council may provide the services of an independent, specialty inspector(s) to provide inspection during all surface preparation and materials application. The Contractor shall coordinate with the Council provided inspector(s) and shall continuously make the work available to the inspector. A. Furnish and install one standby service engine-generator units as follows: 1. One completely self-contained pad-mounted units housed within weather-tight reach-in type enclosures. B. The engine-generator(s) shall be designed to function in conjunction with the various pieces of distribution system equipment shown on the Drawings. 1. All required system components including, but not necessarily limited to; relays, meters, PLC's and miscellaneous systems, components, and hardware necessary for complete and fully functional standby generation systems shall be factory tested as complete assemblies prior to installation, testing and startup at the project sites. These tests shall include, in addition to "standard" factory tests, additional testing as described in these Specifications including, but not limited to, performance tests demonstrating the system's ability to function as specified. 2. The vendor(s) shall provide COUNCIL at least two weeks advanced notice of the time and location of all required functional and performance tests and shall allow COUNCIL and CAR to witness such tests. 3. Minimum required distribution system operating conditions, capabilities, and scenarios are described herein. C. CONTRACTOR shall provide all required additional supports, hardware, and repair to existing facilities for installation of equipment into existing facilities.
