The work involves repairing various bridge elements including but not limited to structural steel, concrete piers, bridge bearings, concrete pedestals. The steel repairs may be performed either by replacing the deteriorated steel member or by connecting a stiffener plate/angle/other section to the deteriorated steel area. Steel members include but not limited to girders, pier cap beams, stringers, diaphragms, floor beams, connecting plates, bridge bearings. The concrete repairs may be performed by removing deteriorated material to sound concrete, providing new reinforcement (if necessary), and replacing deteriorated concrete with new class appropriate concrete. The location type and extent of repair work will be specified in a work order issued. The typical work order will include location plan, bridge framing plan, steel repair details, typical concrete repair details, bearing point loads and if applicable, suggested repair sequence. The work to be performed will be, but not limited to, the following list of tasks. It is not expected that all tasks will be performed under this contract. Provide temporary shoring, bracing, supports, false work, stabilization and jacking to allow demolition, replacement, or repair of structural components. Paint existing or installed metal work. Provide necessary equipment for the inspection of, and to provide a work platform for the repair of structures, including scaffolding, temporary planking and platforms, lift trucks, bucket trucks, and under bridge inspection units. Concrete repairs to pier cap, bearing pedestal and other load bearing concrete elements. Furnish, install, repair or replace shielding. Furnish, install and/or maintain work zone traffic control Survey/take measurements. Install netting.
