Closing Time: 3:00 PM (NT) ** Please note that there has been 2 addendum issued for this project. ** Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/08/15 03:00:00 PM NDT Work under this contract shall include but not necessarily be limited to the following: 1 The contractor shall provide all labour, materials, test instruments, tools and accessories required to inspect, test and service all the fire alarm systems in the buildings outlined in List of Building in Contracts. 2 The Contractor shall conduct annual inspections and tests of the fire alarm systems. The Contractor shall submit for approval a schedule for inspections to the Director at least one month in advance of inspections. The schedule shall identify individual buildings and the date on which they are proposed to be inspected. Fire alarm inspections for all buildings to be completed during normal working hours. Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. All work is to be conducted by persons authorized by permit from the Fire Commissioner's Office. Copies of permits shall be submitted, upon request, to the Director. All work under this contract shall be performed and meet the fire alarm system requirements of the "Fire Prevention Smoke" and "Fire Alarm Regulations" under the "Fire Prevention Act 1991, the National Fire Code of Canada and the National Standards of Canada, Standard CAN-ULC-S536-04 "Standard Testing, Inspection and Maintenance of existing Fire Alarm Systems." 5 When conducting the annual inspection and testing, the contractor shall perform, where applicable, all the work described in Section 6 of CAN-ULC-S536-04, "Periodic Inspections and Tests Yearly" and any other applicable sections. 6 After each inspection and test of the systems, the contractor shall provide one copy of all device reports for each building. Such reports shall include a complete listing of all devices tested and their location. In addition to these reports, the Contractor is expected to make any recommendations pertaining to improvements or necessary changes to the systems. These recommendations shall include reference to the particular section of the CAN/ULC code which required these changes. Also, where possible, a price quote shall be included. 7 In addition to the report required under Art. 2.6, the contractor shall issue an Inspection Certificate attesting to the satisfactory operation of the fire alarm system. The certificate shall be suitable for posting in the vicinity of the fire alarm panel. If the fire alarm system is found to be in satisfactory condition at the time of the inspection, the Inspection Certificate may be issued with the report submitted in accordance with Art. 2.6. If the fire alarm system is not found to be in satisfactory condition at the time of inspection, the Contractor shall notify the Director of the deficiencies with the fire alarm system. Upon notification that the deficiencies have been completed, the contractor shall issue the required Inspection Certificate. If necessary for issuance of the Inspection Certificate, the contractor shall visit the building to verify completion of the deficiencies and satisfactory operation of the fire alarm system. Any costs associated with such a return visit shall be included in the contractor's lump sum portion of the total tender amount. B It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to notify fire departments, alarm monitoring agencies and any other authority responsible, when tests are to be conducted on a particular system. The Contractor shall contact the Director regarding procedures for the testing of fire alarm systems which are under automated monitoring contracts. 9 All the fire alarm systems in the buildings are currently functioning normally. Should the Contractor discover during servicing any system or part of the system that is not functioning as required, he shall immediately notify the Director with details and a cost estimate, if the work to be performed is extra to the contract. Extra work is only to be undertaken in accordance with GC15 and GC16. Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
