Site work and new construction of a museum in Berwick, Pennsylvania. Working plans call for the construction of a museum; and for site work for a museum.
As of September 15, 2025, the project has been rejected. The work includes but is not limited to all labor, materials, tools, oversight and permits required for the construction of a memorial plaza consisting of concrete paving, flagpoles, lighting, E&S controls, and landscaping as well as alternate add bid items for decorative unit paving, concrete seat walls, and wood arbor. 2. Scope of Work: a. Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, permits and inspections required b. Demolition/Site Preparation i. ii. iii. Supply, install, maintain, and remove all erosion and sediment and site controls Remove designated site furnishings, trees, and asphalt pavement Tree transplanting iv. Prepare site for proposed improvements c. Construction/Installation Stone base Concrete foundation and setting of stone monument adjacent to the building. Center monument installation, by others. Contractor to coordinate. iv. Concrete paving. v. Electric service for flagpole lights and center monument uplights. vi. Flag pole installation. vii. Landscaping to include shrubs, herbaceous plantings, and amended topsoil 3. Contract Alternates: a. Add Alternate #1: Concrete seat wall with raised lettering b. Add Alternate #2: Concrete seat wall with bench top and LED lighting. c. Add Alternate #3: Unit pavers over concrete base. d. Add Alternate #4: Timber arbor with concrete foundations. Notice of Award: August 26, 2025 Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond with a corporate surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, in accordance with the project specifications in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount. A Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder as detailed in the Instructions to Bidders. Prevailing Wage Rates shall apply. The Salem Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or portions or to waive any informalities in bidding and to withhold award for a period of sixty days.
