Background The Sam Houston Center is a component of TSLAC's Archives and Information Services Division (ARIS) and serves as the official regional historical resource depository for ten Southeast Texas counties: Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange, Polk, San Jacinto, and Tyler During work to resolve a break in the water line near the property's rear east side property line, a vendor discovered two pipes leading to the main facility and the fire hydrant near the main building on the property. TSLAC requests a permanent cut-off valve so that the water may be cut off in the future if additional repairs on the water line(s) are needed.
