This project involves replacement of water mains and sewer force main along LA Highway 544. Work includes furnishing and installing all pipe, valves, fittings, hydrants, and other appurtenances and reconnection of each water service assembly. PROJECT: LA Hwy 544 Water and Sewer Utility Relocation PROJECT CLASSIFICATION: Municipal and Public Works Construction CONTRACT TIME: 120 Calendar Days LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: $500.00 per Calendar Day A Certified Check or Cashier's Check, payable to the City of Ruston or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid, shall be submitted with each bid. Bidders are advised that both a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent (100%) of the Contract Price, will be required. Bids shall be received only on proposal forms furnished by the Engineer or through www.bidexpress.com. In no event shall proposal forms be issued later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the hour and date set for receiving proposals. The Bidder is advised that the City of Ruston is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All Contractors bidding on this work shall comply with all provisions of the State Licensing Law for Contractors, R.S. 37:2150-2163, as amended, for all public contracts. It shall also be the responsibility of the General Contractor to assure that all subcontractors comply with this law. If required for bidding, Contractors must be licensed in the above proper category of work and must show their license number on the face of the sealed bid envelope. Bid proposals, amendments to bids, or request for withdrawal of bids, received after time specified for bid opening shall not be considered for any cause whatsoever. The bid proposal is firm for a period of forty-five (45) days from the date of the opening of bids and no bid proposal can be withdrawn for any reason during this period of time. The City of Ruston reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals for just cause and reserves the right to waive any and all informalities.
