Renovation of a municipal facility in Georgetown, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

All responsive bids have been rejected DDS expects to advertise this project in the future Renovate Bathrooms, Georgetown, Massachusetts The work consists of the referenced Project as set forth in the plans and specifications attached hereto. The contractor agrees to do and complete at his own expense all the work and furnish all the materials required to be done or furnished by him in the following plans and specifications in a proper, thorough, and workmanlike manner, in accordance with the terms of this contract. All plans, general and detail, are to be deemed a part of this contract, and the plans and specifications and contract are to be considered together, and are intended to be mutually complementary, so that any work shown on the plans, though not specified in the specifications, and any work specified in the specifications though not shown on the plans, is to be executed by the contractor as a part of this contract. Figured dimensions are to prevail over scale. All things which in the opinion of the Designer\Project Engineer may reasonably be inferred from the contract and plans are to be executed by the contractor under the terms of the contract and the Designer\Project Engineer shall determine whether the detail plans conform to the general plans and contract. The distribution of work is intended to be described under the appropriate trade and may be redistributed, except as directed herein, provided no controversy will arise among the trades and progress will not be delayed. The contractor shall be responsible to the Department for the acts and omissions of his subcontractors, if any, and of all persons directly or indirectly employed by him or them in connection with the work. The Table of Contents, titles, headings and marginal notes or sub-scripts contained herein are solely to facilitate references and in no way affect, limit or cast light on the interpretation of the provisions to which they refer. Work Included: Provide labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the work of this Section, including but not limited to the following: 1. Remove: shower/bath stalls, tile floor, wall surfacing, wall board, walls, bathroom accessories, and concrete slab as required. 2. Remove existing plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, grab bars, and bathroom accessories without damaging items. Work Included: Provide labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work of this Section, including but not limited to the following: 1. Wall board for interior walls and ceiling. 2. Blocking, insulation, and vapor barrier for walls. The scope of work without limiting the generality thereof includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials required to: 1. Remove existing plumbing fixtures. 2. Properly install: shower drains, waste and vent piping, hot and cold water supply piping, and all other work shown or specified. 3. Furnish and install new: faucets, toilets, shower control valves, and appurtenances. 4. Furnish and install new cast iron toilet flanges. Demolish interiors of three bathrooms. Remove showers and bathtub unit. Cut concrete slabs as required. Furnish and install new wallboard, solid surfacing on walls, sheet vinyl flooring, and bathroom accessories. Furnish and install new plumbing and electrical. A. The work under this Project No. DDS 26-03, Renovate Bathrooms, 111/111A Jewett St., Georgetown, Massachusetts includes furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the completion of all the work in three shower rooms as shown on the Drawings and/or specified including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: 1. Remove existing fixtures, grab bars, and bathroom accessories. Items to be reinstalled or turned over to the Facility shall be removed without damaging items. All items damaged by the contractor shall be furnished and installed new at no expense to the owner. 2. Remove existing: shower stall; tile floors; wall surfacing; wallboard throughout bathrooms; walls as required; and flooring as required to complete renovations to shower room. 3. Cut and remove concrete slab as shown and required to install new shower drains and clean outs, new sloped shower floor, and run new plumbing. 4. Furnish and install wood blocking as shown and specified. 5. Furnish and install new walls as shown and specified. 6. Furnish and install new sheet vinyl floor as shown and specified. 7. Furnish and install new wall board and solid surfacing on walls as shown and specified. 8. Furnish and install new bathroom accessories as shown and specified. 9. Paint interior surfaces of bathroom. 10. Furnish and install new plumbing as shown on the drawings and as specified, in accordance with the Massachusetts State Plumbing Code. 11. Furnish and install new electrical fixtures and devices as shown on the drawings and as specified in accordance with the Massachusetts Electrical Code. A. The scope of work without limiting the generality thereof shall consist of furnishing all finish hardware as specified for the new closet doors. B. Furnish all necessary templates and schedules required to fabricate doors, and all work incidental thereto. A. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, consists of the Contractor furnishing all labor and materials, tools, equipment and appurtenances for the preparation and complete installation of new flooring. B. The scope of work shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. Furnish and install: New cement based finish underlayment; new sheet vinyl flooring and integral base; new transition strips as necessary; and all other miscellaneous items for a complete and finished installation. ASTM E 648/NFPA 253, Standard Test Method for Critical Radiant Flux of Floor-Covering Systems Using a Radiant Heat Energy Source. C. ASTM E662, Standard Test Method for Specific Optical Density of Smoke Generated by Solid Materials. D. ASTM F710, Standard Practice for Preparing Concrete Floors to Receive Resilient Flooring. E. ASTM F 970, Standard Test Method for Static Load Limit. F. ASTM F1482, Standard Guide to Wood Underlayment Products Available for Use Under Resilient Flooring. G. ASTM F1303, Standard Specification for Sheet Vinyl Floor Covering with Backing. H. ASTM F2170, Standard Test Method for Determining Relative Humidity in Concrete Floor Slabs Using in situ Probes. I. (RFCI) Resilient Floor Covering Institute A. The scope of work, without limiting the generality thereof, consists of the Contractor furnishing all labor and materials, tools, staging, ladders, drop cloths, equipment and appurtenances for the preparation and complete painting of the interior surfaces as specified. B. The scope of work shall include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following: 1. In general, all inside surfaces of the rooms being renovated (bathrooms and bedroom), including ceilings, walls not covered with solid surfacing, doors and door frames shall be cleaned and painted as specified herein. 2. Items that have other finishes that have not been previously painted shall not be painted. 3. Cleaning up. The scope of work without limiting the generality thereof includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials required to: 1. Remove existing plumbing fixtures. 2. Properly install: shower drains, waste and vent piping, hot and cold water supply piping, and all other work shown or specified. 3. Furnish and install new: faucets, toilets, shower control valves, and appurtenances. 4. Furnish and install new cast iron toilet flanges. The scope of work shall include but not be limited to: 1. Furnish and install new switches, receptacles, light fixtures, exhaust fans, and wiring as required by the drawings and as required for a complete and proper installation.
