**As of September 9, 2025, the project was awarded to W&L Construction, with an awarded amount of $401,058.12** The Town of Abingdon Virginia seeks sealed bids to resurface various town streets and roadways in the Town of Abingdon for Fall 2025 asphalt maintenance. Asphalt maintenance shall include but is not limited to milling, paving and striping of the Town's streets and roadways. Sealed proposals shall state on the outside of the envelope the company's name and address and "BID PROPOSAL- FALL 2025 ASPHALT RESURFACING", addressed to the attention of Michael Surrett, Public Works Director, 299 Kings Mountain Drive, Abingdon, Virginia 24210. Bidders must be licensed as a Class A Contractor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and prequalified with the Virginia Department of Transportation. All work shall conform to VDOT Road and Bridge Standards and Specifications. The bidder's attention is directed to the requirements of Title 2.2 Chapter 43, of the Code of Virginia and Chapter 2, Article V of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Abingdon. The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall conform to Code of Virginia, Section 2.2-4330.B. (l). The bidder shall give notice in writing of his claim of right to withdraw his bid within two business days after the conclusion of the bid opening procedure and shall submit original work papers with such notice. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding, and to accept the proposal, which, in its opinion, will be in the best interest of the Town.
