The City of Custer is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to complete repair and restoration work on the Grace Coolidge Log Building (Custer YMCA) located at 644 Crook Street. Phone inquiries and questions should be directed to Laurie Woodward at 605-673-4824 or laurie@cityofcuster.com The scope of work includes: Log Brace Replacement Footing Work Log Re-facing Chinking Repair Floor Repair Fascia Repair The scope includes the following tasks: 1. Log Brace Replacement o Remove and replace nineteen (19) structural log braces. o All new braces must match the size, profile, and material of existing braces. 2. Footing Work o Form and pour nineteen (19) new concrete footings over the existing footings. o New footings must be a minimum of 6 inches larger in all dimensions than the existing footings. 3. Log Re-facing o Reface approximately 100 linear feet of deteriorated exterior logs using new log or half-log material that matches the existing building profile and finish. 4. Chinking Repair o Perform selective chink repair throughout the structure. o Chink behind trim boards as needed during the repair process. 5. Floor Repair o Address miscellaneous interior floor damage, including repair or limited replacement of flooring materials. 6. Fascia Repair o Repair or replace the fascia board at the south gable end, ensuring proper weatherproofing and appearance.
