Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a mixed-use development in Jackson, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for outdoor lighting for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The proposed scope of work includes constructing a new roundabout at the intersection ofU.S. 61 and Deerwood Drive, curb and gutters, sidewalk construction, relocating sanitarysewer, construction of new storm sewers, street lighting, pavement markings, inlet/manholeadjustments, power pole relocation, sodding, and other appurtenances. All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no lessthan the prevailing hourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality asestablished by the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), orstate wage rate, whichever is higher. The City of Jackson hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in anycontract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled bysocially and economically disadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity tosubmit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on thegrounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or national origin in considerationfor an award.All bidders must be on MoDOTs Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 of the currentversion of the Missouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction including allrevisions. The contractor questionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works project providea 10-Hour OSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by theDepartment of Labor and Industrial Relations, to be completed by their on-site employeeswithin sixty (60) days of beginning work on the construction project. A certified cashiers check or a bid bond in the amount of 5% shall be submitted with eachproposal.The City of Jackson reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The project will be awardedto the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder.The DBE Goal for this project is 5%. No second tier subcontracting will be allowed on this project.
