The District School Board of Niagara (DSBN) hereby invites submissions from qualified Electrical Contractors seeking prequalification to bid on various electrical projects for the period beginning January 1, 2026, and ending December 31, 2029. Only the approved pre-qualified Electrical Contractors will be eligible to submit bids in accordance with the various Capital projects. This pre-qualification applies to various Electrical projects which may be bid directly to the DSBN by Electrical Contractors as well as work to be tendered to General Contractors as Sub-Contractors. Respondent(s) who have previously been qualified to provide the services described herein, or who are currently performing work for the DSBN must also respond to this request to be considered for future work assignments. Electrical Contractors will be pre-qualified under two different categories based on Electrical project value: Category A - Medium projects between $100,000 and $1,000,000 Category B - Large projects over $1,000,000 Proponents may submit qualifications for one or both categories. Each category is evaluated and awarded individually based on the selections criteria, category references provided and mandatory requirements. The following are representative of the services which may be required: Lighting replacement Disconnect/connection of equipment Electrical equipment upgrades Fire Alarm repairs/upgrades This is not an all-inclusive list. Other types of repairs and services may be required. Bonding may be required at the DSBN discretion on Medium and Large Projects when the electrical contractor is the prime contractor. In all cases, specific Bonding requirements will be identified in any subsequent Tender Document(s). The majority of the projects will utilize a simplified DSBN contract with less rigorous requirements, however larger projects will generally utilize Stipulated Sum CCDC2 contracts with standard DSBN supplementary conditions. The DSBN reserves the right to bypass this pre-qualified list and tender projects to different sets of contractors based on projects that have specific specialized requirements, or different contractual terms, or values. All work shall be performed according to the standards of the applicable trades and to the complete satisfaction of the DSBN. The bidder is required to verify prior to pricing projects that all specified items will be available in time for installation to ensure orderly and timely progress of the work. The DSBN Facility Representative shall approve the use of any materials other than those specified by the DSBN. The Contractor may present alternatives and options to the DSBN for approval. In some cases, the DSBN may supply the materials to be used by the Contractor and in these circumstances no markup shall apply to these materials.
