For the Construction of a New Palmer Public Library Building Which Includes Landscaping and Site Improvements, This project will be the construction of a new Palmer Public Library building which includes landscaping and site improvements, located at 655 S Valley Way in Palmer, AK, as more fully described in the Contract Documents. A. Definition: Metal fabrications include items made from iron, steel, and aluminum shapes, plates, bars, strips, tubes, pipes, and castings not part of structural steel or other metal systems specified elsewhere. B. Extent of metal fabrications is indicated on drawings and schedules. C. Types of work in this Section include metal fabrications for: 1. Rough hardware. 2. Ladders, including metal ships ladders, elevator pit ladders, and roof ladders 3. Loose bearing and leveling plates. 4. Miscellaneous framing, trim, and supports. 5. Shelf angles and headers. 6. Stair and ramp guard railing assemblies. 7. Counter support bracket. 8. Curved counter support frame. 9. Suspended aluminum sign at Children's Area. 10. Steel sheets at interior casework. 11. 1/4" aluminum soffit panels. 12. Owner-furnished, contractor-installed (OFCI) metal bookshelves, re-powder coated. 13. Miscellaneous steel fabrications as described in construction documents. D. Structural steel is specified in another section within Division 05. E. Finishes: 1. See Section 09 96 23 "Powder Coating" for powder coating of aluminum soffit panels, OFCI metal bookshelves, guardrail and handrail assemblies (including framework, infill, and brackets), curved counter support frame, and counter support bracket, including field touch-up with spray-applied epoxy paint for welded areas. 2. See Section 09 91 23 "Painting" for epoxy coating of steel stairs, suspended steel sign (if not powder-coated), hot-dip galvanized steel components (e.g., exterior ladders, shelf angles, concrete inserts), black patina and Floetrol finish for steel sheets at casework, and application of other finish coats A. The work of this Section includes furnishing and installation of fully self-adhered water-resistive vapor permeable air barrier membrane at exterior wall assemblies, at locations indicated on Drawings. B. The work of this Section includes furnishing and installation of fully self-adhered water-resistive vapor permeable air barrier membrane with attached drainage matrix at exterior wall assemblies, at locations indicated on Drawings. A. The work of this Section includes furnishing and installation of fully self-adhered water-resistive vapor permeable air barrier membrane at exterior wall assemblies, at locations indicated on Drawings and elsewhere as noted and as required by code. B. The work of this Section also includes furnishing and installation of flashing membranes to bridge gaps, for transition areas around windows, curtain wall, louvers, roof-to-wall interface, and elsewhere as indicated or required by code to provide a continuous air barrier assembly. C. Application: This air barrier system is installed behind Neolith sintered stone composite wall panels, as specified in Section 07 42 43. A. Provide all labor, equipment, materials, and services required for a complete installation, testing, and startup of all systems denoted on the plans and specifications. B. Bring questionable or obscure items, apparent conflicts between plans, specifications, governing codes or utilities regulations to the attention of the Project Manager in writing using the standard Request for Information (RFI) Format. C. Verify existing and local conditions affecting the electrical work prior to bid and commencement of project. D. Schedule work and provide all installation requirements to meet project schedule for local seasonal weather conditions. E. Coordinate and provide all specific equipment and installation requirements of serving utility for electrical power, telecommunication, and cable television. F. Provide shop drawings for each low voltage system. Submit fire alarm shop drawings with all details required by plan review department. Make all necessary plan revisions for system approval by the AHJ.
