LOCATION/ DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Sacramento Tree Nursery project totals 4.25-acres and is located in the City of Sacramento adjacent to Mangan Park. The project is bounded by 34th Avenue to the north, Sacramento Executive Airport to the south, Mangan Park to the east, and private property to the west. The work to be performed under this contract includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, and equipment for the construction in a complete and satisfactory condition as shown on the following contract improvement plans and specifications generally described as follows: BID SECURITY: Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents. Each bid must also be accompanied by security in the form of a bid bond issued by a corporate surety, a certified check or cashier's check payable to Planting Justice, or cash for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the aggregate sum of the bid. The successful bidder may be required to execute a Payment Bond and a Performance Bond. No Bid may be withdrawn after the time established for receiving bids or before the award and execution of the Contract, unless the award is delayed for a period exceeding Ninety (90) calendar days. Bids shall be executed in accordance with the instructions given and forms provided in the bound Contract Documents furnished by the Developer. The Proposal shall be attached to and submitted with the Contract Documents bid package in its entirety. AWARD OF CONTRACT: Bids will be considered for award by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right after opening bids to reject any or all bids. The Owner also reserves the right to waive any informality in any bid and to delete certain items listed in the bid as set forth therein. The contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder. As a condition of award, the successful Bidder(s) may be required to submit bonds. The successful Bidder(s) will be required to submit evidence of insurance prior to execution of the Agreement by the Owner. Failure to meet this requirement shall constitute abandonment of the Bid by the Bidder and forfeiture of the Bid Bond. Award will then be made to the next lowest responsible Bidder. The form of Construction Contract to be executed shall be substantially in the form included in the Bid Documents. Bidders should review the form of Construction Contract and be prepared to comply with its terms.
