The work under this contract consists of furnishing all labor, tools, materials, equipment and appurtenances necessary to satisfactorily complete the smoke testing of approximately 10,966 l.f. of existing sanitary sewer in various locations in Northfield Township, Cook County, Illinois. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). Not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and complying with the Illinois Equal Employment Opportunity laws shall be included in the bid under this contract. Each proposal must be submitted on the proposal forms included in the bidding documents and must be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, or cashier's check on a solvent bank or trust company made payable to the Northfield Township Sanitary Sewer System in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid as assurance that the bid is made in good faith. Successful bidder will be required to furnish to Township all required certificates of insurance before starting the project. Northfield Township Sanitary Sewer Board of Trustees reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities in the bidding documents or procedures and to award the contract to a bidder which best serves the interest of Northfield Township Sanitary Sewer Board after all bids have been examined and canvassed.
