The Department of Veterans Affairs, VACCHCS Fresno Facilities Maintenance Service, requires asbestos abatement services in the Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) Building 1, specifically in rooms B1A08 and B1A08A. The contractor shall remove, transport, and dispose of approximately 454 square feet of asbestos-containing floor tile and mastic. All work must comply with applicable codes and standards, including OSHA, NFPA, and VA Master Construction Specifications section VA 02 82 11. The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary tools, equipment, personal protective gear, and for coordinating work with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR). Waste disposal must be documented with receipts and an asbestos removal report signed by both the vendor and the VA Safety Chief. Additional requirements include submitting a Site Specific Third Party Monitoring Plan, Asbestos Abatement Work Plan, Air Clearance Test Reports, and a completed manifest. Work is to be performed during regular business hours, with prior approval required for any weekend or after-hours work. Security protocols must be followed, including obtaining and displaying VA-issued and company badges. No access to VA sensitive information or systems is permitted under this contract.
