Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of a museum in Hartford, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum; for site work for a museum; and for asbestos abatement for a museum.
*As of March 16, 2026, all sub-trade bids/bid package received for this project have been awarded except for Package 09D - Painting, which is currently out for Rebid. Although not yet firm, construction for this project is expected to start in the next couple of weeks or so. Proposals are being solicited for The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center Capital Improvements Project and includes separate bid packages for: Scaffolding, Selective Demolition, Abatement, Sitework, Masonry Restoration, Metals, Historic Carpentry Restoration, Waterproofing, Roofing Restoration, Doors/Frames/Hardware, Historic Window and Exterior Door Restoration, Gypsum Wallboard and Carpentry, Flooring, Acoustical Ceiling, Painting, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical. All Bidders must complete, sign, and include the CHRO Contract Compliance Regulations Notifications to Bidders form as a part of their bid. This contract is subject to State set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Minority / Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to apply This is a publicly bid job so the following requirements must be met: Prevailing wages will be required DAS Prequalified for bids over $1,000,000 Bid bond in the amount 5% must be included as part of the bid for contracts exceeding $50,000. Alternatively, a bank check equal to 5% of the bid may be submitted. Performance Bond required for all bids in excess of $50,000 A labor and material payment bond is required for bids that exceed $100,000. CHRO requirements. All contractors must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set- aside goals and will be required to submit a set-aside plan to CHRO. Bids must be submitted as hard copies in triplicate to HBS Visitor Center. Late bids will not be accepted. Although a firm timeline has not been confirmed, construction is not expected to start as soon as possible. Completion is expected December 2025.
