Proposals are being solicited for The Harriet Beecher Stowe Center Capital Improvements Project and includes separate bid packages for: Scaffolding, Selective Demolition, Abatement, Sitework, Masonry Restoration, Metals, Historic Carpentry Restoration, Waterproofing, Roofing Restoration, Doors/Frames/Hardware, Historic Window and Exterior Door Restoration, Gypsum Wallboard and Carpentry, Flooring, Acoustical Ceiling, Painting, Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical. All Bidders must complete, sign, and include the CHRO Contract Compliance Regulations Notifications to Bidders form as a part of their bid. This contract is subject to State set-aside and contract compliance requirements. Alternatively, a bank check equal to 5% of the bid may be submitted. Performance Bond required for all bids in excess of $50,000 A labor and material payment bond is required for bids that exceed $100,000. CHRO requirements. All contractors must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set- aside goals and will be required to submit a set-aside plan to CHRO. Bids must be submitted as hard copies in triplicate to HBS Visitor Center. Late bids will not be accepted. Although a firm timeline has not been confirmed, construction is not expected to start as soon as possible. Completion is expected December 2025.
