Site work and paving for a road / highway in East Otis, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
FDR and Resurfacing of North Blandford Road Questions may be directed to Highway Superintendent Derek Poirier at 413-269-0106 or email highway@townofotisma.com. The project consists of one section 4,730' in length by 23' in width for a total of 12,088 Sq. Yds. FDR of the existing blacktop surfaces, calcium chloride at a rate of 1 Gal. per sq. yard, and the HMA in place. Tack coat at a rate of .05 gallons a square yard in between courses along with a Wedge joint to be installed on both layers of HMA as well. Traffic control and shoulder material estimated at 600 Tons (not trucking) will be provided by the Town of Otis. The base price for liquid asphalt at this time is $635.00 per ton and the base price for diesel is undetermined at this time. Price adjustment clause in effect for hot mix asphalt mixtures. Bids are to include base price of liquid asphalt and diesel and must be OSHA 10 certified. Mass DOT prequalification of contractors with the class of work as, Pavement- Surfacing, for the project with an estimated value of $315,000.00 will be required. Work to be completed by Oct.1, 2025 weather permitting. Project to be completed per current Mass DOT specifications. Project is to be bid as one package. Prevailing wage applies as per M.G.L. Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27F and a wage schedule is included in the specifications.
