Site work and paving for a road / highway in Ohio Township, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The Broadway Road Reconstruction and Bike Lane Project will consist of shoulder widening, designated locations of pavement base repair, milling and overlay along Broadway Road with drainage improvements, guiderail replacement, signage, and pavement marking replacement. The items of work are identified more specifically in the Project Specifications. The entire project will be awarded to one (1) Contractor. A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and acceptable surety in the amount of 10% of the Total Bid of construction shall be submitted with each bid. The SUCCESSFUL BIDDER will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the Contract Price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner. Contractors qualifying as subcontractors may submit bids as a prime contractor, consistent with their qualifications and as specified in section 108.01, Publication 408. A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The Bidder, in accordance with the President's Executive Order 11246, will be required to ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against on the basis of their race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin in employment or the provision of services. Bidders are advised that PA Prevailing Minimum Wage Rates must be paid to workers employed on this project and are incorporated in the Contract Documents. These wage rate requirements are applicable to this contract for the entire duration of this project. This bid is for a public works contract and bidder is therefore subject to the provisions, duties, obligations and penalties of the Public Works Employment Verification Act, 43 P.S. 167.1-167.11. All submitted bids shall be accompanied with the Public Works Employment Verification Form. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding for the best interest of the owner. Bids may be held by the Owner for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of opening bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract. The contractor shall sawcut, excavate and remove existing pavement material, subgrade, and adjacent soil to install bike lanes and stormwater improvements as indicated on the plans. Construct bike lanes with Superpave Base Course, PG 64S22, 0.3 to < 3 Million ESALs, 25.0 mm mix, 4.0" Depth on Subbase (No. 2A), 6" Depth. Base replacement areas to be coordinated between Contractor/County/Engineer during construction, after roadway milling is performed. Base replacement to include sawcutting and excavation of existing material and placement of Superpave Base Course, PG 64S22, 0.3 to < 3 Million ESALs, 25.0 mm mix, 4.0" Depth. Lanes to be milled to a depth of 2" and overlaid with Superpave Wearing Course, PG 64S-22, 0.3 to < 3 Million ESALs, 9.5 mm mix, 1.5" Depth on Superpave Wearing Course (Scratch), PG 64S-22, 0.3 to < 3 Million ESALs, 9.5 mm mix, 1" Depth. Pavement markings, new signage and pavement legends to be installed per plan. Off-Road restoration includes backfilling with topsoil and restoring with seeding, soil supplements, and mulch or compacted Subbase No. 2A as needed to restore disturbed areas. Driveways and side road approaches to be tied in at existing width and 5'-0" length (maximum), unless otherwise specified on plans. Work shall include the following incidental items: minor grading/excavation beyond shoulder widening, sweeping of roadway, milling of paving notches, drives and approaches (as required), shoulder backup/off road restoration, and sealing of joints and utilities as necessary. Contractor to properly dispose of excavated/milled material.
