*As of September 23, 2025 no bids received for this project.* Cowan Community Center is on State Hwy 931 in Letcher County, Kentucky. The community center is seeking a licensed contractor to implement site improvements on its property. The site improvements are located at the forested area southeast of the main community center building. This area of the property is forested, and contractors should anticipate some sensitive excavation work around existing trees to minimize environmental impact and preserve the natural landscape. Plans and details are attached. The project includes only site work. There are no modifications to the fence adjacent to the building. The playscape at Cowan is a renovation and expansion of an existing playground site. Project scope includes removal of some existing site features (playground equipment and surfacing) and the addition of swing set, log and boulder climbing components, surfacing, sensory play area, water play area, boulder scramble and musical play areas. Site modifications include grading for playground and stormwater planting areas. Modifications to the site utility system may be needed to connect a water line to the water pump and the locking spigot at the proposed locations.
