Renovation of a municipal facility in Gallitzin, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Contract No. 1: General Construction Work involves building construction which includes shingle re-roofing, membrane roofing, installation of new roof trusses and joists, coping, masonry and stone veneer repair, vinyl siding, waterproof coating of exterior masonry walls, insulation, exterior doors and frames, vinyl windows, interior masonry and light-gage metal partitions, built-in casework, ceilings, flooring, and paint; miscellaneous work to support other contracts as required. Work also includes the installation of a perimeter drain, removal and replacement of the neighbor's garage roof and removal and replacement of a neighbor's shed and shrubbery. Contract No. 2: HVAC and Plumbing Construction Work involves the installation of a new heat pump VRF type HVAC system, including two ductless ceiling cassettes; removal and replacement of all existing furnace and condenser components and modification of existing ventilation systems including general ventilation systems, the cleaning of existing supply and return grilles and installation of ducted exhausts for toilet rooms. Work also involves the removal and installation of a pantry sink, condensate lines from mechanical cassettes, perimeter site drains, and required vents. Contract No. 4: Electrical Construction Work involves installation of a new service meter, distribution equipment including panels, feeders, branch circuits, receptacles, and disconnects; electrical work to support building HVAC systems; installation of new LED lighting fixtures and associated wiring/switching; miscellaneous electrical work to support other contracts and equipment as required, including reinstallation of existing salvaged lighting from a neighbor's garage. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of the Owner or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory Bid Bond on the form provided, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety (Surety companies must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania), in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total of the Bid C-100-1 shall be submitted with each bid to guarantee the Bidder's entrance into a contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements set forth in the plans, specifications or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or any applicable municipal ordinances. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price on the forms provided, with a surety company listed on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Pennsylvania. The Owner shall award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder or shall reject all bids within 60 days of the date of the bid opening, and no bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such 60-day period; PROVIDED, however, that if the award of the contract is delayed by a required approval of another government agency, the sale of bonds or the award of the grant or grants, the Owner shall reject all bids or award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder within 120 days of the date of the BID opening, and no bidder may withdraw his bid before the expiration of such 120-day period. Thirty (30) day extensions of the date for the award of the contract may be made by the mutual written consent of the Owner and the lowest responsible bidder. Gallitzin Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Architect/Engineer in writing The Work will be substantially complete within 180 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run as provided in Paragraph 4.01 of the General Conditions, and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with Paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within 210 calendar days after the date when the Contract Times commence to run.
