Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Wetaskiwin, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
A proposal for design and build replacement of one (1) standard bridge, the latest bridge information being available on the BIM System: BF 00168 is located at SE 4-47-24-W4 The scope of work for the proposed design and build replacement proposal should include, but is not limited to the following items: Mobilization and site control, this shall include traffic control. All environmental applications and approvals by vendors as required. Environmental protection per applicable legislation. Removal and disposal of the existing structure, including timber piles and abutments. The County of Wetaskiwin No.10 will prefer single-span structures. The minimum width allowable for proposed bridge structures is 8.5 meters. Vendors shall take into account the hydro-technical design for any proposed bridge design. The final product shall be an engineered structure but is not limited to Alberta Transportation designs. Alternate designs that meet or exceed these standards will be considered. Supply and install thriebeam transitions and w-beam approaches. Strong posts may be needed. Erosion protection per standard specifications. Proposed bridge designs should have a lower impact on the environment than the current bridge structure only, pending design. Backfilling, site cleanup and reclamation. Roadworks as applicable. Demobilization.
