Renovation of a water / sewer project in New Haven, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The Project contemplated consists of window, skylight, and roof replacements at the administration building, chlorine sample room, garage building, generator building, inlet works building, maintenance building, operations building, substation no. 2 building, and substation no. 3 building. The project has a total construction duration of 365 days. A certified check cannot be substituted for either bond All questions from bidders must be received via email by September 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. local time in order to receive consideration. Emails shall be directed to Engineering@GNHWPCA.com . The Greater New Haven Water Pollution Control Authority reserves the right to alter quantities and to accept or reject any or all bids or any portion of any bids, for any or no reason, including unavailability of appropriated funds as it may deem to be in its best interests. A. Section includes administrative and procedural requirements governing allowances. 1. Certain items are specified in the Contract Documents by allowances. Allowances have been established in lieu of additional requirements and to defer selection of actual materials and equipment to a later date when direction will be provided to Contractor. If necessary, additional requirements will be issued by Change Order. B. Types of allowances include the following: 1. Contingency allowances. 2. The Contractor agrees that they are not entitled to payment of Allowances, except for additional work carried out by them in accordance with the Contractor as directed by the Engineer and only to the extent of such additional work as directed by the Engineer. Use the allowances only as directed by Engineer for Owner's purposes and only by Change Order(s) that indicate amount(s) to be charged to the allowance. A. Section includes administrative and procedural requirements for planning, monitoring and documenting the progress of construction during performance of the Work. B. Contractor shall prepare and submit to Engineer for review within 30 days after Notice to Proceed, a construction progress schedule. C. No work shall be done between 4:01 p.m. and 6:59 a.m. nor on Sundays or legal holidays without written permission of Owner. However, emergency work may be done without prior permission. D. Night work may be established by Contractor as regular procedure with written permission of Owner. Such permission, however, may be revoked at any time by Owner if Contractor fails to maintain adequate equipment and supervision for proper prosecution and control of work at night. E. The Contractor has the obligation and responsibility at all times to plan and monitor all of its activities, anticipating and scheduling its staff, materials, plant and Work methods in a manner that is likely to ensure completion of the Work in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Contract and at a rate that will allow it to be completed within the Contract Time A. This Section specifies the general methods and requirements of submissions applicable to the following work-related submittals as indicated and in compliance with Contract Documents. 1. Shop Drawings, Product Data and Samples. 2. Mock Ups. 3. Construction Photographs. 4. Contractor's Responsibilities. 5. Submission Requirements. 6. Review of Shop Drawings, Product Data, Working Drawings and Samples. 7. Distribution. 8. General Procedures for Submittals. 9. Certificate of Design. 10. Certificates of Compliance. 11. Schedules A. The Contractor shall provide all temporary facilities for the proper completion of the work as indicated and in compliance with Contract Documents. 1. Section Includes: a. User Charges: (1) Electric. (2) Temporary heat. b. Project identification. c. Sanitary Facilities: d. Equipment. e. Support facility installation. f. Security and Protection: g. Operation, termination, and removal. A. This Section specifies general administrative and procedural requirements for warranties and bonds required by the Contract Documents, including manufacturer's standard warranties on products and special warranties.
