Houghton Avenue Storm Drain Improvements The project entails constructing a new storm drain system along Houghton Avenue and Pine Street, beginning with the removal and reconstruction of the existing catch basin and the capping of an existing outlet. A 12-inch reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) will extend 215 feet southeast from the proposed catch basin along Houghton Avenue to a proposed manhole at the intersection of Pine Street. From this proposed manhole, an 8-inch PVC (SDR-35) pipe will run southwesterly 160 feet, connecting to a proposed clean out box, then continues southwesterly for another 17 ft and connects to a proposed parkway drain. The scope will also include the removal and replacement of an existing 6" VCP pipe, with a proposed 8" PVC (SDR35) pipe that runs 35 feet on Pine Street. Due to the increase in pipe diameter, the two catch basins connected to this pipe will need to be reformed. Prior to starting any work, the Contractor shall be required to have a City of Riverside Business Tax Registration valid for the life of the Contract; subcontractors shall also have Business Tax Registrations valid for the time they are engaged in the work.
