Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 14,000-square-foot fire / police facility; for site work for a 14,000-square-foot fire / police facility; and one-story above grade, five-space fire / police facility.

VILLAGE OF RICHFIELD SPRINGS REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS Pursuant to the provisions of 40 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., the Village of Richfield Springs seeks qualifications statements from engineering and architectural firms in relation to the proposed design and construction of a new fire station, totaling approximately 14,000 SF, to replace the existing fire station located at 34 East James Street, Richfield Springs, NY 13439. The new station will be a single-story structure, consisting of an apparatus area with five bays, with the balance of the structure being support for offices, meeting rooms, kitchen and related support areas. Site selection and acquisition of the land for the project will be involved. Such statements should address past performance, specialized experience and technical competence related to engineering and architectural services for such fire station construction projects. Further, statements shall identify the name(s), title(s) and qualification(s) of the proposed project lead(s). As required by 40 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., upon receipt of the qualifications statements, the Village shall evaluate and rank the submitted qualifications statements, discuss with at least three firms to consider anticipated concepts and compare alternative methods for furnishing services, select at least three firms considered to be the most highly qualified to provide the services required and negotiate with the most highly qualified firm to determine compensation that is fair and reasonable based on a clear understanding of the project scope, complexity, professional nature and the estimated value of the services to be rendered. In the event a contract cannot be negotiated with the most highly qualified firm, negotiation shall continue in order of qualification. This project will be funded, in whole or in part, with grant monies. The selected firm shall comply with all grant requirements. The development of facilities, outdoor recreation areas, transportation or written or spoken communication with the public shall comply with all requirements for providing access to individuals with disabilities as established by Article 4-A of the New York State Public Buildings Law, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and relevant sections of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code.
